Does Banking in Indonesia tend to be Concentrated?
The banking in Indonesia has undergone several changes in the market structure that
ultimately impacts the prevailing policies and regulations. This study aims to
examine the impact of changes in the banking market structure identified through
the level of market concentration in the banking environment and examine the
factors that influence the level of concentration of the banking market from 2005 to
2016. The study also examined the impact of changes in banking structure during
the global crisis. The measurement of banking concentration used in this study is the
Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI). Furthermore, the influential factors consist of:
(1) Bank specification, including bank size (Size), credit risk (NPL), profitability
(ROE), banksoundness(CAR),(2)Market specification, namely the number of
standingbank (NUM), and (3) Global crisis. The study used GLS (Generalized
Least Square) method to detect autocorrelation on each variable. The results show
that banks in Indonesia tended to have a low level of market concentration. The
results are also in accordance with the SCP paradigm which states that banks tend to
generate high profits when the level of banking market concentration is high
KETERKAITAN SPASIAL DI ENAM NEGARA ASIA: ANALISIS INPUT-OUTPUT DUNIA SPATIAL-LINKAGES IN SIX ASIAN COUNTRIES: WORLD INPUT-OUTPUT ANALYSIS
the Rest of the World.
Efek balik terkecil
terjadi di India dan Indonesia. Cina mempunyai efek limpahan terkecil tetapi menerima efek balik terbesar
TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT: EVIDENCE FROM INDONESIA
This paper examined direct and indirect impact of technological progress
on human development, with income disparities and poverty as moderating
variables. Except data on technical progress, all data were collected from National
Statistics Agency. A path model of analysis was empolyed to examine direct and
indirect impacts. There were four paths to be analysed: direct impact (Path-1: P41)
and indirect impacts : (Path-2: P43 x P31, Path-3: P43 x P32 x P21 and Path-4 : P42 x P21).
Four hypothesis had been tested. The results showed that impact of technological
progress on human development were negative, both direct and indirect.

Pengaruh Kepemilikan Manajerial, Kepemilikan Institusional, Growth Opportunities, dan Profitabilitas terhadap Konservatisme Akuntansi
This study aims to determine the influence of managerial ownership, institutional ownership, growth
opportunities, and profitability of accounting conservatism. The research object used is a state-owned corporation
listed in IDX in 2012-2018 which compiled 7 samples of companies with a period of 7 years, with the result that the
data processed is 49 data. This research uses the method of explanation research. The tools used to determine the
influence between variables is SPSS version 23 year 2019. The results indicate that institutional ownership and
growth opportunities significantly influence on accounting conservatism, while managerial and profitability have no
significant influence on accounting conservatism. Simultaneously all of the variables significantly influence on
accounting conservatism. The independent variables of this study 48.2% can described the value of accounting
conservatism, while 51.8% were described by other variables not included in this study. The function of institutional
institutions which is monitoring of management’s tendency to do earning management is not well implemented and
there is a probability of institutional institutions to participate in doing earning management. Therefore,
monitoring by other parties such as BPK, OJK, IDX, and MENKEU should be more emphasized. The corporation
should be more aware of the growth opportunities aspect because the corporation will have a quality profit from the
application of accounting conservatism and the corporation will more advanced than the investment proceeds.

Steamed Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus Thunb.) Juice Improves Spatial Memory in Dementia Rat Model
Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus Thunb.) is one of the fruits that containing lycopene. Lycopene is able to
reduce oxidative damage that causes dementia. This research was aimed to determine the activity of steamed
watermelon juice in improving the spatial memory in dementia rats model induced by Electroconvulsive
Shock (ECS). The animal test was divided into 6 groups, namely normal control group, negative control
group, positive control group (vitamin E, 20.7 mg/kg BW), and 3 treatment groups that received steamed
watermelon juice with different dose, i.e 0.92 g/kg BW,1.85 g/kg BW, and 3.7 g/kg BW. All groups were
induced with ECS, except for the normal control group. The spatial memory was measured with the Radial
Arm Maze (RAM) test and the observed results were analyzed with ANOVA and a post-hoc Tukey’s HSD test.
The ANOVA test results showed significant differences between all treatment groups. Meanwhile, the posthoc
Tukey’s HSD test at 95% confidence level resulted in a significant difference between the the treatment
groups with the doses of 0.92 g/kg BW and 1.85 g/kg BW and the negative control group. However, this
test indicated an insignificant difference between the positive control group and the normal control group.
This finding confirms that the administration of steamed watermelon juice at doses of 0.92 g/kg BW and
1.85 g/kg BW improves the spatial memory in a rat mode of dementia comparable to the positive control.
The treatment groups receiving these two doses showed corresponding results, meaning that both doses of
steamed watermelon juice have an equivalent spatial memory enhancement activity.
